Centrica Energy is a world leading player in offshore wind
development and has constructed a number of offshore wind farms
around the UK with joint venture partners. These include Barrow (JV
with DONG Energy), Lynn and Inner Dowsing wind farms (JV with EIG),
which have a total cable length of 33kV array cables of around 90km
and 33kV export cables of around 36km. Centrica is constructing the
270 MW Lincs wind farm, a joint venture with DONG Energy and
Siemens Project Ventures, which when complete will have around
110km of 33kV array cables and 96km of 132kV export cables. Lincs
is expected to be fully operational by Q3 2013.
Centrica also has the following wind farms in
- Race Bank (535MW). We currently anticipate a final investment
decision for Race Bank in late 2013.
- 4.2GW Irish Sea Zone development (with DONG Energy as JV
partner). Rhiannon Wind Farm will be the first wind farm within the
zone and is currently in the consenting phase.
